WELCOME to 2018-2019
July 19, 2018
Dear Artistic Friends,
First, I want to give tribute to Judy Stanfill and Debra Curry for the wonderful work they exhibited for the Nampa Art Guild. They both were so involved in the community and did a wonderful job of representing the Guild. I, on behalf of the Guild applaud them. Judy and Debra are true ambassadors of the Nampa Art Guild. I appreciated these ladies, as I do all the other team players of the Guild. Without teamwork, the Guild could not continue to thrive as it has for over fifty years. I look forward to many more opportunities and challenges as we move ahead in our future.
With prayers, we will have a healthy, fully functioning year. We have a terrific group of gals with me on the board. Together we will continue to meet the challenges as written in our mission statement. We will continue to encourage the arts to all people in the Treasure Valley and the City of Nampa.
The new board members are Irene Chandler - 1st V.P., Gerry Draper - 2nd V.P., Thayona Burnett – secretary, Kay Coughren – treasurer, and last but not least, Valerie Kelley – historian. These committee leaders play an important role in our guild. In addition, Linda Hays is our workshop coordinator, Jackie Pratt is our presentation coordinator, and so far, I am the Monday night demo scheduler. I see promising progress with these committees already.
I welcome you to explore our website to learn how the Guild can help you, how you can help us, and how you can become a participating member of this historic art group. As in the past, we reach out with open arms and art education. We will continue offering workshops, demonstrations, monthly presentations, and the time for our members to bond during our Wednesday open paint days. Advanced artists help to make us a family by sharing their expertise. We want all artists to feel welcome and able to meet their goals.
Each one of us has an artist deep down within ourselves. Art is a learned process, so come and explore the artist within you. Let’s look ahead to what our Guild is and always will be. It’s a safe environment that will grow given lots of paint!
